Employees celebrate their achievements

Barr Quarries and Barr Surfacing employees celebrated their attainment of SVQ Level 2 and Level 3 awards at a presentation dinner on 1 November 2011 at Fairfield Hotel in Ayr.

At the awards dinner 16 employees with collective years of service for Barr of 244 years were presented with SQA awards.  The process of obtaining accreditation to SVQ Level 3 (15 employees) and SVQ Level 2 (1 employee) formalises and recognises the years of skill development working in the business and further develops each individual.

This was a great achievement by all concerned and this training programme, organised through Killoch Training Centre, would not have been so successful without the dedication and willingness of all the candidates.

Managing Director Bill Weir told the teams how proud he was to be presenting the certificates and he recognised the hard work put in by everyone to achieve these awards.  He also reinforced the importance placed on training and development and that the company will continue to develop its people to help secure future business.
