SAFED training programme delivers reduced carbon emissions

In 2009 Killoch Training Centre introduced SAFED as a complementary driver development course.  Its aim is to develop and improve safe and fuel efficient driving skills.  The training has resulted in numerous benefits for both the company and the drivers as follows:

• Safer driving techniques reducing wear and tear, driver stress and reduced accidents
• Reduced fuel consumption - up to 10% reduction per average road mile
• Reduced environmental impact through lower emissions
• Reduced down time

Our aim is to reduce fuel use per vehicle mile by 10% and SAFED training has helped our drivers to make significant progress towards this target.

To date 30 drivers have benefited from this training.
